8 Random Facts

2007-07-165 CommentsMemes

Montucky tagged me a couple weeks ago for the “eight random facts” game. The ones tagged must divulge eight random facts about themselves. The ground rules:

*These rules must be posted before giving you the facts.

* Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.

* People who are tagged write their own revealing blog about their eight random facts and post the rules. At the end of the blog post, you choose eight people to tag and list their names.

* Remember to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

So here goes:

1- I’ve been practicing yoga 4-5 times a week for the past few months, and haven’t felt this good in a long time. Props to my 2 primary teachers, Darren Main & Catherine Chapman!

2- The book I’m currently reading is “The Song of the Dodo” by David Quammen, a history of extinction and island biogeography. It’s rather long (600pgs), but fantastic, at least as of p. 285.

3- I went to UC Santa Cruz in the early 1990s (Go Slugs!), and lived in Santa Cruz from 1990-2000.

4- When I drive, which is happily and increasingly uncommon (perhaps 2-3x/week), I drive a 2002 Subaru Outback Sport.

5- When I bicycle, which is happily increasing, it’s on a Bianchi Bergamo city bike. My lovely Habanero road bike is sadly mostly unused nowadays.

6- When I walk, which is very often, I’m usually wearing John Fluevog shoes.

7- I am passionate about all types of music and enjoy constantly exploring new sounds. I don’t blog about any of this because it would consume even more of my time. Most recent band discovery: Oh My God

8- I’m becoming more and more interested in Slow Food and Locavorism. For about a year now, we get a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) box from Eatwell Farm. I love getting at least some of my vegetables direct from a small farmer, as they taste way better, and it’s good to have more of a connection with where food comes from, and what seasons things grow in.

I’m not sure I read 8 un-tagged blogs, but I now tag: Chuq, Maggie, Corey, Jennifer, Tom, and Darren.

Hey, you have a blog! And we have the same CSA! Cool!!! Glad to know you’re here – don’t know why I didn’t know before but I’ll be visiting. And I’d better get on that tagging thing…

Thanks for going along with this, Adam. I have a love/hate relationship with these things, but overall enjoy learning things about the folks whose weblogs I regularly read. Hope your trip went well.

Interesting facts. And thanks for tagging me… but I’ve already been tagged. Too bad!

Maggie: I just noticed on your blog that you have EatWell for your CSA – cool! You & Jer must come visit and we can make a mecca to the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market – it’s pretty amazing (but expensive), and EatWell has a large booth there.

Montucky: I’m also lukewarm with most of the “forward and add your friends” things (Myspace is plagued with them), but this one is fun and interesting. Much better than the high-school-level “what’s the oddest place you ever made out?”-style ones! 🙂

Jennifer: Oops, I somehow totally missed your 8 facts post, my bad! By way of excuse, I offer the fact that I was camping and away from the internet at the time 😉
