Adam, where is this place? That looks like a really nice pumpkin patch to visit.

Hi Mary – It’s about 5 miles south of Half Moon Bay on Hwy 1. I like it 1) for nostalgia, as I’ve been going there since the ’70s and 2) it’s not nearly so commercialized as the dreadful places along Hwy 92. If you want to visit, be aware of when the HMB Pumpkin Festival is (this coming weekend, I think) – you do NOT want to be on the roads in this area then! From SJ, perhaps take Hwy 17 to Santa Cruz, then head north on 1, stopping to bird at Ano Nuevo, Pescadero Beach, or any of the other myriad great birding locations if time permits 🙂

Adam..My son would go nuts there, he just loves the pumpkin patches and corn mazes that dot our landscape here in the Midwest.

    Great shots !!

    WalkTheWilderness: Thanks!

Bernie: Ah yes, we don’t have so many corn mazes here, but they do pop up here & there. We always have to bargain w/each other – this is my favorite pumpkin patch by far, but an hour in exactly the opposite direction from our home is an excellent corn maze that Sarah is fond of.
