Splendid post. The ice abstract photo is really super! Trees shot too. And now looking at it, I can’t imagine the Drive-Through-Tree was wide enough for our family’s 1947 Pontiac to fit through…

And by the way, Adam, I never answered your question about the new 70-200 “L” II f-2.8. Yep, I thought that the old f-4 was pretty darned good (albeit lots of vignetting and barrel distortion), but this new II f-2.8 is razor sharp corner to corner. I have a buddy that also has the old f-4 and always said he didn’t like to use it because he thought it was “soft”. Well, he has bought the new II f-2.8 also and now uses it almost exclusively on his 5D. But yeah, prepare yourself for “sticker-shock” when you go to buy the new II f-2.8…

Yeah, all of those “drive-through trees” remind one of how cars have grown, don’t they?

Good info on the 70-200 2.8L – that one isn’t very high on my list, both because I don’t find the focal length to be super-useful on APS-C bodies, and because it is very expensive!
