A treat of a walk at Edgewood Park

Wednesday, 25 March 2009:

My manager, Jaromir, was in town from Prague for a few weeks, and suggested that we do a team hike & lunch as a team-building exercise.  It should surprise nobody that I eagerly agreed, and we decided to hike at Edgewood County Park, meeting there at 10:30am.

Bull Point hike at Point Reyes

Sunday, 28 February 2009:

Eager to take advantage of a break in a series of welcome storms, Sarah & I headed to Point Reyes, and after a tasty breakfast at the Pine Cone Diner, we decided to hike the Bull Point Trail, one of few trails we have not yet hiked in this area.

10’ish miles down the road to the lighthouse, we came to the trailhead and started hiking at 11:30 under partly overcast skies.

Big bird photo gallery update

To my chagrin, I discovered that I was more than a year behind in updating my personal bird photo gallery – yikes!  It’s all up-to-date now, though, and you can visit it at: http://www.adampaul.com/gallery/Birds The many (many!) new photos are all tagged as “New.”  Most, like the Southern Crested Caracara above, are from our trip…

Blog moved to blog.adampaul.com

Hi folks, I’ve moved my blog onto http://blog.adampaul.com – this change shouldn’t require any actions on your part, as the old URL will redirect to this one, and any RSS feeds should be automatically updated, but just in case you see any issues, this is probably why. I’ve also made my blog the landing page…

Signs of Spring at Bon Tempe Lake

21 February, 2009:

Jones’ing for a nature fix after not getting out for a couple of weeks due to various reasons, Sarah & I went for a hike at one of our very favorite places, Bon Tempe Lake, in the Marin Municipal Water District.

Located a 40-minute drive north of San Francisco, the MMWD is a nature-lover’s heaven, with many miles of trails, lakes, and wildlife and, seasonally, wildflowers, galore.  We paid our $7 entrance fee and parked at the small lot closest to Bon Tempe Lake’s dam.  Like all of the lakes in the MMWD, Bon Tempe is an artificial lake, but that hardly detracts from the setting.
